In the words of Mother Teresa, "I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot; together we can do great things!" So, I prayed, “God, I can do great things! I will to attend the University of Notre Dame to pursue an Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA)?” God’s response, “No! Thy will you to attend the University of Chicago (UofC) to pursue an Executive MBA!” My response from Psalm 23, “You set a table before me in front of my enemies…”?! God’s response, “Yes, but only 76%!”
UofC’s own Nobel Prize winner Richard Thaler conducted a famous experiment which has repeatedly shown, 76% of MBA students stated it was acceptable to raise the price of a snow shovel the day after a blizzard. (By contrast, only 18% of the general public stated it was acceptable to raise the price after a blizzard.)
Therefore, upon graduation and citing Matthew 25:14-30 – The Parable of the Talents and Luke 19:11-27 – The Parable of the 10 Gold Coins, I pray, “God, please have mercy on the servants who were afraid!” God’s response, “Fear not!” And “… put my money in the bank…” My response and gratitude, “Thank you for Blessed Michael McGivney for establishing the Knights of Columbus as a bank (aka life Insurance, annuities, long-term care insurance, disability insurance, and asset advisors) so that God, you, and me “…could have got it back with interest…”!
Again, “… together we can do great things!"
In addition to graduating from the UofC, I also graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in (Mechanical) Engineering and minors in Mathematics and Art History. I am a 4th Degree Knight at St. Monica (Council 17947) and a Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW Post 360) having served in the United States Air Force stationed primarily at Ramstein Airbase, Germany. And last but certainly not least, on the Feast Day of St. Luke (October 18th, 2026) Emily and I will celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary.
Thanks,
Christopher!
